Year 4
Literacy -Westlandia
We have started our new book in Year 4 of Westlandia. The story is about a boy named Wesley who is an outcast from the Civilisation around him. He goes on to design his own world. The children in Year 4 had so much fun working together to create a shelter to keep Wesley warm and dry. It was such a windy day, but the children did a fabulous job!
Cricket in Year 4
We had the most wonderful Tuesday afternoon learning new skills in cricket. The children all played wonderfully together and showed amazing progress in their very first session. I would highly recommend everyone consider joining the 'ALL STARS' cricket club.
Samba Drums
Year 4 have been learning how to play the Samba Drums in Music. The beautiful weather means we are able to use the vast outdoor space at Frome Valley.
Studying Plants
In Science, Year 4 have been learning about plants. They enjoyed studying a real plant and discussing with their talk partners the scientific names for each part of the plant.
Creating composition in Art
In Art & Design, Year 4 created the most amazing artistic collage. They considered the proportion and placement of each element. The children added various elements to enhance the texture and overall appearance of their work.
Rounding to the nearest 1,000
In Maths, Year 4 enjoyed going out onto the playground when learning about rounding numbers to the nearest 1,000.
Each child was given a number. When their number was called, they stepped forward and had to decide if their number needed to be rounded up or rounded down.
